Life is a classroom and every person and situation that enters our life has come to teach us something. These lessons may come in a variety of forms—ill health, inharmonious relationships, prosperity challenges and any combination thereof. They happen in our lives to teach us one thing—how to expand our consciousness so that we can express more of the perfection within us.

We all possess this potential, but many of us do not know how to express it. In fact, sometimes we try very hard to hide it, as Emerson suggested when he said, “Every man is a divinity in disguise, a god playing the fool.”

Every man is a divinity in disguise, a god playing the fool.

Expanding Consciousness by Wendy Craig-Purcell | guest writer, guest blogger, guest post | I am technology. #blog by Trey Warme, San Diego - expanded ConsciousnessThe most valuable lesson I have learned on how to expand consciousness came not through a learned teacher or wise guru but through nature, actually an acorn. Wrapped up within that small, seemingly insignificant acorn is the potential of a magnificent tree.

The acorn does not have any choice but to become (express) what it is by nature. We too have that potential within us. We have the potential to be happy, healthy, prosperous, satisfied and fulfilled in all areas of our lives by expressing what we are by nature—spiritual beings created in the image and likeness of God.

WheExpanding Consciousness by Wendy Craig-Purcell | guest writer, guest blogger, guest post | I am technology. #blog by Trey Warme, San Diego - expanding consciousnessn the acorn falls to the ground, it begins to grow where it landed. It does not complain about where it landed, nor does it wait for a better place to grow. It does not say, “ Gee, couldn’t I have fallen from a tree in California where it is nice and warm?” or “Why aren’t I surrounded by better looking acorns?” It accepts itself right where it is and begins its growth process there.

And so it is with us. Our spiritual growth must begin right where we are. There will never be a better time or set of circumstances. Nor will tomorrow be any easier than today. In the words of Seneca, “ It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.”

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that things are difficult.
